St Martin's Day...

...belongs to traditional holidays in Slovenia. It is especially important in those parts of Slovenia that grow grapes. Their income and life is affected by the quality and quantity of wine they produce.
What belongs to the holiday? Is some special food eaten?

I would say that there is much more at the background of this holiday: people who work hard in vineyards throughout the year and are afraid that bad weather can destroy their harvest could tell us a lot about that. When all the hard work is over and the product is safe in the barrels the ones who produced the wine have the right to celebrate. People who drink too much do not respect good wine nor the wine growers. Not to speak about civilized behaviour!
